Lysious James Ogolo, mononymously known as Lysious, is a Nigerian novelist, playwright, screenwriter, director, producer, singer-songwriter, and entrepreneur.

He briefly attended Roosevelt High School, Washington, DC, and The University Of The District Of Columbia before graduating from Howard University in 2015 with a degree in Radio, TV and Film. He was co-host and producer of Good Morning Gospel on WHBC, Howard University's Black Communicator, until his graduation in May of 2015. In 2014, while still a student at Howard University, Lysious launched the production company, Conbeach Ideas with the motto, Be Entertained, Be Inspired.

His first novel, Love Birds: Beyond Death, was published in 2011 to mixed reviews. Lysious describes the novel as a learning experience and a reflection of his potential as a writer. Following the release of his first novel, Lysious spent several years developing plays and other theatrical projects in the DMV, particularly at his home church in Silver Spring, Maryland.

His second book and first poetry collection, Love Notes: A Reflection on Love and Life was published in 2018. One of the poems from the collection, For the Howard Woman, was adapted into a short film of the same name. In January of 2021, he began pre-production for his first feature, The Dream Vs. The Come Up. Production is set to begin in the summer of 2021.

Lysious is always drawn to stories that transcend ethnicity, race, class and creed. "No matter who we are or where we come from, there's a common thread that runs through us all. It's the thread of our collective humanity. I always try to find that thread in every project I take on." Lysious enjoys the works of Spike Lee, Ava Duvernay, Martin Scorsese, Ryan Coogler, Federico Fellini, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Alfred Hitchcock, Oscar Micheaux and many more. A few of his favorite authors include Nicholas Sparks, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Chinua Achebe, Danielle Steel, Terry Mcmillan, James Patterson, Angie Thomas, and Toni Morrison.
